Orthodontist

Jonathan had his second appointment with the Orthodontist on Friday - they took impressions for the expander they will be putting in next friday - then onto braces in February....

Grumpy Boy!! Jonathan didn't want me taking pictures of him...someday he'll be glad!

I love his shirt...at his first appointment the office gave him this t-shirt that he can wear to his appointments to get tickets for a drawing, they also get tickets for being on time, and good oral hygiene. (She was checking to see if the spacers they put in last week were still in there) they were!

She was testing metel rings on Jonathan's teeth - they will get cement in with the expander.

Dr Beckstrom checking the rings on Jonathan's teeth before they take the impression. We love Dr Beckstrom and his office staff!!!

So many to choose from...Jonathan chooses a flavor for his impression. (of all the flavors he chose grape - yuck!)

Open wide....

yum....

Reminds you of the days when you all had braces huh...and yes, Jonathan is a little young for braces, but he has a front tooth that was starting to move forward slightly, and it was making him not want to show his teeth. (I know most of you have never noticed - it's that minimal) But it was enough to bother Jonathan so the Orthodontist decided to go ahead with braces. So next week will be part 2 - the Expander. I get to insert a key 3 times a week and turn it -Fun stuff!

Seattle 2007

Jonathan decided this year for his 8th birthday to have a birthday with his 2nd cousins is Seattle instead of going to Disneyland. So off to Seattle we went! It was the first time all 5 of the great grandkids have all been together and we had a blast. We put together some of our favorite pics from the trip and one of our favorite songs. You can mute the song by clicking the little speaker in the bottom left corner of the slide show.

All Smiles

My two most favorite boys - pretty cute if I do say so myself - all smiles after a family home evening of pizza and cake at Papa & Nana's to celebrate Brent and Papa's Birthday's. Jonathan had his first "zit" today and he was CONVINCED he was starting puberty! We got to my parents and the first thing he tells papa is "Papa I had a "zit" on my nose today and that means I'm starting puberty" - and I know that you all can totally hear Jonathan telling his papa in his matter of fact voice. It was way too funny!!! Especially since he has NO idea what exactly that means. You gotta love J! :-)

Happy Birthday: Danny, Charlee, Andrew, Cameron LaNae, Brent, Dad & Grandma!!

Mom & Dad's 50th Birthday Surprise Party

We started off by planning the party for the weekend that everyone comes to town for the St George Rodeo, so they wouldn't think anything about my aunts coming to town. We had planned the party at mom and dad's house, and sent out the invitations and then realized a few days before the party that we had NO way to get them out of the house for a few hours! Talk about stress - fortunately there was an outdoor expo that my office participated in so I got 4 tickets and with the help of Erica and John, & Sanne and Wendy, we convinced them to go. While they were at the expo, we frantically decorate and I had carefully crafted a plan to call them and tell them we had left over food from a church activity early in the week, and Kasey was cooking up hamburgers for everyone. Of course they took the bait, so we anxiously awaited the phone call that they were on their way, instead we got a phone call from Sanne saying they were trying to get dad to leave, but he keeps wanting to look at stuff. They finally convinced him that they were really hungry and ready to go. It was really fun to surprise them with friends and family, and the best part was they really had no idea!

I think we actually scared them when they came up the stairs - we made them stop so we could take a picture.

After eating lunch and visiting we cut the cake. Yes, we really put 50 candles on the cake & it put off A LOT OF HEAT!!!

They were speechless & a little red when they saw our gift...

We couldn't resist matching walkers! Don't they look good?!

There were lots of gag gifts, laughter and hopefully a birthday they won't soon forget. I did have to promise mom that I was done with the surprise parties, so no more surprise parties. (or so she thinks...)

New to Blogging

Okay, so we are totally new to blogging - and still trying to figure out how to do this. Sorry fam! How cool though to be able to share thoughts, photos and updates with everyone. Hopefully this will be a great way to stay connected.
