Bunco Bash

These sexy mamma's were the hit of the party! Aliesha and Annalee are SO creative! They played the part so well! You guys make me laugh!

Halloween Bunco...

Bunco was SOOO fun last night! Everyone had GREAT costumes...my favorites were the two grannies! They were AWESOME! Aleshia and Annalee were great - I loved the carpet purse! Everyone looked so great and it was so much fun! I can't wait until next Halloween! Photo in order from Back left - Kristen, Aliesha, Annalee, Mandy, Amberley, Deborah, Trudy. Bottom row far left, Chablis, Shemra, Alicia, Melodie and Tiffany. Tiffany's rocker costume was awesome...she found a bunco national champion shirt at the DI! To funny! Thanks for the great time last night girls!

Carving Pumpkins

For Family Home Evening this week we carved pumpkins. I did most of the scrapping since Jonathan would not use his hands to clean the pumpkins out. Kasey made his a soccer ball pumpkin and Jonathan made his own design... :-) I love this time of year! Jonathan is really excited for his Halloween Party tomorrow and the Ivins City Trunk of Treat. :-)
Happy Halloween!
P.S. if any of your kids want to sell back their candy our office is buying back Halloween Candy at $.05 a piece the week of the 3rd though the 7Th. So let them keep a few and bring them in and let us buy back what's left over!

Ghost Tours

For Family Home Evening a few weeks ago went to the Ghost Tours in Santa Clara. It was really fun. My grandma was here from Arizona and Danielle our niece was having a sleep over, so we all went, along with a few of Jonathan's friends. My favorite "Ghost Story" was the hairy fish. Danielle though, during the story : Joe's Big Toe...Danielle got a little freaked out and needed to sit on Uncle Kasey's shoulders. It was pretty cute. It has been a great tradition for our family. Kudos St George Musical Theater for continuing to put it together!

Ward Activities Chairman here I come....

I have recently been called as the Ward Activities Chairman...a little overwhelming...but I am up for the challenge. So I am asking all of you to share some of your favorite activities that your ward has done - Christmas Parties, fun random get togethers, Halloween, whatever you have done with your ward that you loved! We have lived in our ward for 5 years and I think other than the ward Christmas party every year, we have only had 1 other ward activity. Well all that is about to change...and I am looking for some really good ideas from all of you. With friends spread through out the country I know there are some great ideas out there!

Heard Tonight....

Kasey and I were sitting on the couch watching Grey's Anatomy tonight and Jonathan came in from playing and asked if one of the neighbor boys could spend the night. Normally we don't let friends spend the night on school nights, but there a few friends that are always welcome. So we are watching Grey's and I said okay boys it's time to get your pj's on...
Jonathan says: okay mom, just a minute I'm helping Brian with his spelling.
I say: okay, just a few more minutes and then you guys need to get into bed.
Then we heard...
J: okay let's start with the first word...Jerk
Brian: Jerk
Jonathan: sound it out....ju, ju, ju,
Brian: G?
J: Not gu, ju
Brian: J
J: good, next is errrrr
Brian: E, R
Jonathan: you know the last one...ka
Brian: J E R K
Jonathan: see you can do it, you just have to sound each letter out
A few minutes later....we hear both boys totally laugh and then Jonathan says "Brian you know that word! Just sound out each letter...see, there you go, you got it!"
It was too cute! We hit pause and just listened from the other room...brought tears to my eyes!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy DaD

Happy Birthday to the BEST dad (and Mom) in the world!
(My Dad is the one on the far left)

Here are a few of my favorite things about my dad:

1. Watching a funny movie with my Dad and seeing him laugh so hard he cries (my ultimate favorite)

2. Knowing that my dad is always there for his kids - no matter what kind of trouble one of us may be in

3. Seeing how Christlike my dad is...he is always willing to serve EVERYONE without ever asking for anything in return

4. Hearing my Dad's fishing stories...especially when my mom out fishes him!

Thanks Dad for always being there...even in the wee hours of the morning...when I have needed a blessing, advice or just an ear to bounce an idea off of, for coming to every soccer game, baseball game and other function we were in. Thank you for being the BEST Papa in the world too! We love you!

HaPpY 21sT BiRtHdAy BrEnT

I can't believe Brent is 21 ~ Here's a weird fact most people don't know...Brent and I literally share the same DNA...blood DNA anyway...he was donor for my two bone marrow transplants...so blood wise we are the same person...weird huh? Probably one of the reasons it a good thing Kasey and I can't have any more children...not that Brent's not a good lookin' kid! Not many people can say they owe their life to their kid brother...thanks Brent for being such a good sport and great kid brother! I love ya! Good luck in Hawaii!

One of the reasons I am so behind on blogging...

So, the same week that Kasey and Jonathan got their Deer, (clear back in September) Kasey and I went out hunting with my dad and mom to help push the Deer around toward my dad who unfortunately did not a get a deer this year...anyway, we had been hiking around and it was almost dark, so Kasey and I sat on the tailgate of my dads truck and at dark when we were ready to leave, I jumped down out of the back of the truck and broke my foot. (fortunately they were only stress fractures) so I got to wear this lovely boot along with crutches! Boy did that stink! Last week though I got to take the boot off and start walk around in a normal cute shoe again. YEAH! Plus I started walking again this week...boy did I sure miss my 6am walk with Mindy! (and no I am not pregnant as my son so kindly pointed out..."mom, I don't mean to be rude, but the way you are sitting and your shirt make you look pregnant!)

Happy Hunters

Jonathan at first light

I am WAY behind on blogging! WOW~ In September, Kasey and Jonathan went hunting...Kasey decided to try Black Powder this year...so he, my dad and Jonathan all had a great time trying something new. Opening day Kasey had a few great shots at some big bucks with my dad, but with black powder you have to be pretty close, so he wasn't able to get a good shot off. Friday Morning, Kasey took Jonathan out with him ~ since my dad had to work and I am paranoid about Kasey hunting by himself. They got up early and hit the road around 6am and by 9am Jonathan called me and said they got one. Jonathan was pretty excited and I was grateful for the deer meat! It fills my freezer for at least 7 months. The best part of the story is that Kasey had taken his car hunting that morning and of course that would be when he got a deer ~ so he laid down a tarp and put a dead deer in the TRUNK of his car! Fortunately it wasn't messy...but I was not letting him live that one down! (then on Sunday our bishop told us he did the same thing...in a smaller car than ours!) Men, gotta love 'em!
